MASHISHING EXT. 8 SEWER PUMPSTATION, RISING MAIN AND OUTFALL SEWER
Tenders are invited for the construction of the Mashishing Ext. 8 sewer pumpstation, rising main and outfall sewer, which is located in Lydenburg/Mashishing in the Thaba Chweu Municipal area.
Contractors who would be eligible to submit tenders must be registered with the Construction Industry Development Board, in possession of at least a 3 CE grading. Tenderers and JV partners must be registered with the CIDB.
Tender documents will be obtainable from 09:00 on Tuesday, 10 November 2009, from Thaba Chweu Municipality, Municipal Centre at the corner of Central & Viljoen Streets, Lydenburg against payment of a non-refundable levy of R250.00. Only bank guaranteed cheques or cash will be accepted. Cheques shall be made payable to Thaba Chweu Local Municipality.
Duly completed tenders enclosed in a sealed envelope marked “TENDER NO. 17/2009: MASHISHING EXT. 8 SEWER PUMPSTATION, RISING MAIN AND OUTFALL SEWER,” with the name of the Tenderer, shall be deposited in the tender box provided at the Thaba Chweu Municipality Civic Centre at the corner of Central & Viljoen Streets, Lydenburg not later than 12h00 on 27 November 2009. The tenders will be opened in public.
Tenderers shall pay special attention to the Conditions and Provisions of the Conditions of Tender, which are included in the Tender Documents. No facsimile, telegraphic or late tenders will be accepted. The Thaba Chweu Local Municipality does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
A Compulsory Site Inspection will be conducted on Tuesday 17 November 2009 starting at 10h00 in the Council Chamber at the Municipal Offices in Central Street, Lydenburg, from where a visit over the site will take place. Contract documentation will not be available on site, and the Engineer will not be available for inspection purposes on any other occasion.

A preferential point system shall apply whereby a contract will be allocated to a tenderer in accordance with the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act, Act No 5 of 2000 and as defined in the Conditions of Tender in the tender document, read in conjunction with the Supply Chain Management Policy of the Thaba Chweu Municipality where 90 points will be allocated in respect of price and 10 points in respect of targeted goals. Tenderers must have the necessary skills, experience and capacity to perform the required work.
